Through the example of Rehoboam in 1 Kings 12, we see the danger of rejecting godly counsel and listening instead to voices that simply match our emotions. In a world full of “itchy ears” (2 Timothy 4:3), we are called to seek truth, endure affliction, and apply the wisdom God freely gives.
