AWANA Clubs for Boy’s & Girl’s
the AWANA Club at Calvary Chapel Hemet is for children ages 2 1/2 years old through 6th Grade. We meet every Wednesday evening 7:00 to 8:30 from September to May.
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed. 2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV). We work together with parents to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
Kids who participate in AWANA discover God’s love and their own identity in Christ. They become disciple-making disciples who reach out to their friends. We reach kids through energetic game activities, Bible-based teaching experiences and small group time with friends.
AWANA is divided into levels that are age specific.
Puggles is designed for ages 2 & 3 who’s parents are working in AWANA or are attending our Wednesday Bible study or Discipleship classes on campus. Workers are provided with a curriculum with age appropriate activities that encourage development in toddlers.
Cubbies is for ages 3 & 4 (and Pre-K 5 year olds). They learn to memorize scripture (or parts of scripture) as a group.  All of the children move at the same pace. There are sections in the clubber participation books that involve parent interaction to help children learn scripture both at home and at club.
Sparks is for Kindergarten thru 2nd grade. This is a high energy group!  These boys and girls are usually the biggest part of the AWANA attendance. Sparks begin memorizing Scripture out of their handbooks from the first night of club to the last.  Each child works at their own pace and often times readers help non-readers with learning what they must memorize. You will be surprised what your youngster can memorize!
T&T is for 3rd grade thru 6th grade. These are divided into boys and girls clubs. The handbooks include memorizing Scripture as well as other mission focused projects like meeting and interviewing a missionary.
Each AWANA club night is divided into three parts. Handbook time, game time and council time. Each week the clubbers enjoy these times divided into their team colors and learn both individual accomplishments as well as team goals.

Infant, Toddler and Children’s Ministries:

Sunday Mornings 9:30 am

Jesus said “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14 NKJV

In the Gospels we see the special place that children hold in Jesus’ heart. He wants children to come to Him and to learn about Him. Our aim is to reinforce what should be taught at home. We desire every child in our care to see and know the worth of God, to savor and enjoy Jesus as their greatest treasure. This is our aim and measure in everything we do. In our ministry to children we desire to emphasize what the Bible emphasizes, which is the teaching of God’s Word.

We offer safe, nurturing, loving care and instruction for all children, nursery through 6th grade. We believe that it is important to teach children the Word of God, so that they might be lead into a relationship with Jesus Christ and understand the knowledge and greatness of God which will direct them throughout their lives. As the Bible tells us: “… from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”  2 Timothy 3:15 NKJV

Therefore, Preschool through 6th graders will experience God’s Word through the “Calvary Curriculum.” This curriculum will walk them through the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation and is filled with hundreds of activities each week for the children to further grow and practice what they have learned. Just like in “adult church” we will take the children through the bible, book by book.

All of our Children’s Ministry volunteers have passed a background check and have current Live Scan fingerprinting done by the Department of Justice. We encourage you to let your little ones be part of our ministry.

Preschool thru 6th grade check in at the Fellowship Hall for worship, parents then pick up their children in their classroom.

Nursery check-In is Room 1 and Toddler check-In is Room 2.  See the Nursery webpage for more information.
